Jane Iredale Longest Lash Mascara.

Jane Iredale Longest Lash Mascara.
Finding the perfect mascara that gives big lashes seems to be the hardest thing to get right in the green beauty world. I have tried quite a few mascaras, and have found good alternatives for day time use, but nothing that really gives those big fluttery lashes.

I bought my sample of Jane Iredale Longest Lash Mascara from Naturisimo quite some time ago, tempted by it's claims to thicken as well as lengthen the lashes. I like the softness of the brush, but I am afraid that is pretty much it.

I found the formula wet and messy. No matter how careful I was, most of the mascara seemed to transfer onto my eyelid. It also made a mess of the actual tube. I felt that it never dried on my lashes properly, and therefore smudged easily. It did give a little length, but I didn't find it volumising at all.

Safe to say that I am very glad to have tried the sample first, and will not be buying the full size. Do you have any recommendations for a volumising mascara?

  1. So funny, this is the total opposite of my experience with this mascara! I picked up a couple of the samples to try when Naturismo had them too and LOVED it. The tube does get messy, but the actual mascara didn't move/smudge on me at all and I found it actually gave a good amount of volume too! Mascaras are so finicky person to person :) Have you tried the Lily Lolo mascara? I've found it's also quite good for volume, though the tubes tend to dry out pretty quickly in my experience(~2 months)

    1. I haven't tried Lily Lilo. Thanks for the recommendation. I am pleased you had better luck than I did x

  2. I have to say the same as Katie, I found it to dry enough to apply plenty to the lashes without smudging. The size of the brush is a little ridiculous considering the size of the tube but I am assuming that with the full size it wouldn't be a problem. Mascara is such a tricky product! Xx

  3. My experience with this Jane Iredale mascara is very similar to yours Karen. I didn't find it messy but I just didn't get any volume oomph! My fave mascara by far is Benefit's Be Real, though admittedly Benefit is not a natural/organic brand. Tx
