Today my Love Lula Beauty Box arrived. Sadly I am going to unsubscribe for a while.
The first item is a full sized packet of Cleansing Wipes from the Yes To range. Although I quite like the products I have tried from the Yes To range, I am not a fan of cleansing wipes. We have also had different varieties of these in previous boxes. I will more than likely use these on the kids grubby mitts.
A 7ml sample of Pommade Divine. I have tried this all purpose medical balm before and really like it. Although this may seem a small sample, a little goes such a long way.
These lip balms by Fair Squared are really good, but I think this is the third I have received from Love Lula. I am giving this to my daughter as there are only so many I can use. Having said that, these are super gentle and I am more than happy for her to use it.
A full size Frankincense Deep Cleansing Balm by BalmBalm. I have tried this before and really like it. This is a very good cleansing balm and like all BalmBalm products they are very affordable too. I just have a lot of their products courtesy of my LoveLula subscription.
The final item is a sachet of Dr Bronners Lemongrass Lime Shikakai Soap. Dr Bronners liquid soaps are a staple beauty product for me, but I haven't actually tries the Shikakai soaps. I will be interested to see how these compare.
There are some products in this months box that are really good and as a whole it is good value for money. If I were a new subscriber to Love Lula I would be really pleased with this, as a regular subscriber it just doesn't feel very exciting.
I feel like I am guaranteed to get something by either John Masters, Yes To, BalmBalm, or Fair Squared, and either a hand cream or a lip balm. All of these products have been lovely, but I have a stash of very similar products. This is a shame as Love Lula has an extensive range of brands, and the beauty box does not show case the online store's full potential. As I said earlier, it is time for me to take a break from my subscription. I will continue to shop from Love Lula because of the choice of products and their excellent customer service.
I am always tempted by your beauty box reviews! I haven't subscribed to a box for well over a year now. I feel your frustration with this box - although the products may be great, you do want a bit of variety...
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly how I feel Carrie.. It won't do my purse any harm to have a rest though x
ReplyDeleteThis box looks a bit more interesting this month...but I have lots of all of these type of products to use up. Shame they can't seem to get samples from more unusual brands which they stock.
ReplyDeleteI have cancelled my subscription now. Every time I get an email with a new brand I wonder why they aren't including them in the boxes.
ReplyDeleteYou make some very valid points about brand and product repetition in beauty boxes. I see it myself in those I often buy. Advent calendars too (You Beauty always has 1 or 2 items that crop up year in, year out). GWP offers (Space NK) and in the monthly mag beauty freebies (L'occitane and Nails Inc frequently feature). I totally agree that a wider mix would be welcome! 😊 Tx
ReplyDeleteI looked at the You Best advent calender and thought the same. I don't mind so much with the GWP because you know in advance, so buy because you think it's worth it. Variety is definitely the spice of life x
DeleteLol, I'm eating my words a bit now as this year's You Beauty advent calendar definitely looks fresh with brands and products that haven't featured before -I mention this in my post this week. One of the worst culprits of repetition is the Selfridges one, I feel. That slipped my mind earlier! Yes, variety is the spice of life. Tx
DeleteI totally agree with you, I had a subscription to the Amarya boxes and when I took it out you got a full sized product and it was varied so I loved them. Now however they seem to include the same brands month in month out. Have you seen the sneaky peek of this months Pure Natural box, I am so tempted, great brands and full sizes as well as trials Xx
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen it Ana. Will have to have a look. Thanks for the heads up x
ReplyDeleteIf you want to buy a beauty box then before going for any of the skin care or beauty products do not forget to have a look on the feedback and reviews given by the previous users. If they sounds good you can freely go for that beauty box.
